Indian curriculum schools across the UAE are adjusting their academic schedules while ensuring that students complete their exams on time. School leaders say the goal is simple: protect student safety while maintaining academic standards.
With exams nearly complete and online systems already in place, schools have moved quickly to avoid disruption. As a result, most students finished their assessments without delays. Administrators also assured parents that the changes will not affect final results or academic progress.
Online Exams Help Schools Stay on Schedule
At Shining Star International School, Principal Abhilasha Singh confirmed that exams ended on March 6.
The exam cycle began on February 16. Both primary and secondary students completed their tests successfully. “Last week, we conducted the exams online. This ensured that the schedule continued smoothly,” Singh said. Teachers will now work remotely to compile and finalise results. Meanwhile, school authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
Dubai School Shortens Exam Sessions
In Dubai, Springdales School Dubai adjusted its exam timetable to match the revised calendar. Principal David Jones explained that students had already started their Term 3 exams before the earlier break was announced. “In Indian curriculum schools, we normally do not have a spring break,” Jones said. “Students usually complete exams first and then begin their holidays.”
To manage the new timeline, the school shortened exam sessions. Remaining tests will run online between 9am and 10am. Students in Grades 6 to 8 will take Mathematics, Science and English exams under this format.
Bridge Classes Begin for Board-Year Students
Despite the revised schedule, schools continue to support students entering critical academic years. Springdales School will start online bridge classes for students moving into Grades 10 and 12 on Monday.
“These are very important academic years. The bridge sessions will help students prepare early,” Jones explained. He also clarified that retests will occur only in genuine medical emergencies.
Ras Al Khaimah Schools Announce Spring Break
At Indian School Ras Al Khaimah, authorities confirmed that Zoom classes ended on March 6. Students will now enjoy a spring break until March 30. The new academic year will begin after the break.
The school has also shared the key dates for the upcoming academic year. These include summer and winter vacation schedules. According to a school circular, retests will begin on March 23. A detailed timetable will be shared with parents soon.
Schools Reassure Parents and Students
Across the UAE, school leaders say digital learning tools helped them manage the transition smoothly. By moving exams online and adjusting schedules early, schools avoided major disruption. Education leaders say their priority remains clear: protect student wellbeing while maintaining strong academic outcomes.
