The UAE Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research have extended distance learning across the country until Friday, March 6, 2026.

The decision applies to all students, academic staff, and administrative employees in public and private schools and universities nationwide. Classes and operations will continue remotely under existing assessment frameworks.

Nationwide Coverage Across Schools and Universities

The extension covers institutions across all emirates. Both ministries confirmed that teaching, assignments, and evaluations will proceed online.

Officials said the move ensures continuity in education while prioritising student and staff safety. Schools and universities have already activated remote learning systems to avoid disruption.

Precautionary Step Amid Regional Developments

Authorities described the measure as part of a broader set of precautionary actions taken in response to ongoing regional developments.

The ministries stated that they will continue to monitor the situation closely. If required, they will announce further steps to safeguard the wellbeing of the education community.

The UAE has emphasised maintaining essential services, including education, even during periods of regional tension.

Focus on Safety and Learning Continuity

By extending remote learning, the government aims to protect public safety without interrupting academic progress.

Education leaders said digital platforms remain fully operational. Institutions have adapted quickly, drawing on experience gained during previous remote learning phases.

The decision reflects a balanced approach. It supports both security priorities and uninterrupted academic delivery.
