Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has launched BCG Platinion Qatar, expanding its specialist digital architecture and technology implementation business in Doha as the country accelerates its Digital Agenda 2030 and National AI Strategy.
The new practice strengthens BCG’s presence in Qatar and positions Doha as a regional hub for technology transformation. It will focus on helping public and private sector organisations implement large-scale AI, cloud, cybersecurity and digital infrastructure programmes.
The move comes as demand grows across the Gulf for enterprise AI deployment, sovereign cloud solutions, advanced cybersecurity frameworks and smart infrastructure projects.
BCG doubles down on Qatar’s digital ambitions
BCG said the launch reflects its confidence in Qatar’s long-term digital growth strategy. The consulting firm has worked with Qatari institutions for nearly a decade and now aims to deepen its technology execution capabilities in the country.
Juan Vazquez, Managing Director and Senior Partner and BCG Qatar Office Lead, said Qatar has made digital transformation a central pillar of its national development plans.
“Qatar has placed digital transformation and AI at the heart of its national agenda,” Vazquez said.
He added that the country’s Digital Agenda 2030 and National AI Strategy provide a clear roadmap for embedding technology, data and innovation across industries and institutions.
According to Vazquez, Qatar’s strong policy environment and continued investment in technology create favourable conditions for large-scale digital transformation.
Leonardo Altieri to lead BCG Platinion Qatar
The new practice will be led by Leonardo Altieri, Managing Director and BCG Platinion Qatar Office Lead.
Altieri will oversee a Doha-based team of AI technology architects, cybersecurity specialists and digital transformation experts. The team will work closely with BCG’s global network of technology consultants while delivering projects locally.
BCG Platinion Qatar will operate alongside BCG and BCG X, the firm’s tech-build and design division. Together, they will support organisations from strategy development through technology implementation.

The Doha practice will provide expertise across several key areas, including:

Building local digital talent
In addition to advising clients, BCG Platinion Qatar plans to contribute to national talent development.
The firm said it will support knowledge transfer initiatives and help develop local digital and technology capabilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
The expanded presence is expected to strengthen collaboration with government entities, state-backed organisations and private sector companies pursuing digital transformation goals.
