Abu Dhabi-based premium private aviation operator RoyalJet has appointed Ashok Kumar as Vice-President for Resources and Transformation. The move comes as the company accelerates its digital transformation agenda and prepares for future fleet modernization.

Kumar brings more than three decades of experience in aviation finance, corporate services, operational management, and business transformation. His appointment reflects RoyalJet’s focus on strengthening operational efficiency while supporting long-term growth.

Veteran Aviation Executive Takes Expanded Leadership Role

Kumar is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for driving financial performance, managing enterprise risk, and leading large multidisciplinary teams.

Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services at RoyalJet. During his nearly 20-year tenure with the company, he managed a business portfolio generating approximately AED 1 billion in annual revenue. He also led a workforce of more than 400 employees while overseeing financial planning, cost optimization, and corporate risk management.

Extensive Experience Across Gulf Aviation Sector

Before joining RoyalJet, Kumar worked as Financial Business Support Manager at Gulf Air, one of the region’s longest-established airlines.

Earlier in his career, he spent nine years with Presidential Flight, where he served as Management Accountant. The organization was originally established under Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. During that period, Kumar gained extensive experience managing financial operations in highly secure and mission-critical aviation environments.

He began his professional journey at Ernst & Young, where he developed expertise in accounting, financial controls, auditing, and risk management.

Focus on Digital Transformation and Fleet Renewal

Commenting on his appointment, Kumar said:

“I am honoured to take on this expanded mandate at RoyalJet, an organisation I have had the privilege of serving for nearly two decades. As we enter this next chapter, my focus will be on digital transformation and fleet replacement, two strategic priorities that will position RoyalJet for sustainable growth.”

His new role will place him at the center of RoyalJet’s modernization efforts. In particular, he will oversee initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, advancing digital capabilities, and supporting the company’s future fleet strategy.

RoyalJet Strengthens Position in Premium Private Aviation

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, RoyalJet is among the leading premium private aviation operators in the Middle East. The company operates from its dedicated VIP terminal at Zayed International Airport and provides a wide range of aviation services, including charter operations, aircraft management, leasing, maintenance, medical evacuation flights, and VIP aviation consulting.

The company owns and operates a fleet that includes Boeing Business Jet aircraft and Bombardier Global 5000 jets. Over the years, RoyalJet has received multiple international awards for its private jet charter services and fixed-base operations.

As competition intensifies in the business aviation market, the appointment of Kumar signals RoyalJet’s commitment to operational excellence, digital innovation, and sustainable long-term growth.
