According to News of Bahrain, published in July 2026, Bahrain labour services have been upgraded as the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) introduced an enhanced online appeal service for foreign workers. The digital improvement simplifies work abandonment appeal procedures, reduces processing time, and supports Bahrain’s wider public service transformation.

Bahrain foreign worker Appeals 2026 become faster

The upgraded service allows foreign workers to submit appeals within 11 working days after employers file work abandonment notifications. The revised process reduces administrative approvals by 25%, making the service more efficient.

Appeals can now be processed within three working days, helping applicants receive decisions more quickly. The service also standardises information across all official channels, making the application process clearer and easier to follow.

These improvements strengthen Bahrain labour services by making key employment procedures more accessible through digital platforms. They also reduce administrative delays, improve service consistency, and provide foreign workers with a more streamlined and transparent appeals process.

Bahrain Labour Services improve user experience

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Arabi, LMRA Deputy Chief Executive for Services and Business, said the enhancement reflects the authority’s commitment to improving service efficiency through digital solutions.

He explained that the updated platform simplifies procedures while reducing the time and effort required for users. The initiative also supports continuous improvements across the labour market system by providing a smoother customer experience. It further aligns with Bahrain’s wider digital transformation efforts aimed at delivering faster, more accessible, and user-focused public services.

The new service forms part of LMRA’s ongoing efforts to modernise Bahrain labour services and improve access for foreign workers. The authority also continues to strengthen digital service delivery by simplifying employment-related procedures and improving operational efficiency across its service platforms.

Government transformation supports service delivery

The online appeal system contributes to Bahrain’s broader government digital transformation programme.Government entities have documented, translated, and published more than 1,300 public services, while they are currently developing or re-engineering nearly 800 additional services.

These improvements are based on feedback collected through the Tawasul national suggestions and complaints system, investor comments, and secret shopper evaluations. Service guides and service level agreements also support higher standards of efficiency and customer service.

LMRA continues Bahrain Labour Services improvements

The latest enhancement reflects LMRA’s continued focus on improving employment-related services through digital innovation. Faster processing times, fewer administrative steps, and standardised procedures provide a more efficient experience for foreign workers using the appeal system.

As Bahrain labour services continue to evolve, digital initiatives remain central to strengthening service quality, improving accessibility, and supporting the Kingdom’s wider public sector modernisation efforts.
