In a strategic leadership move, GCG Enterprise Solutions, part of the Ghobash Group, has appointed Simon Howells as its new General Manager in the UAE. The announcement marks a decisive step in the company’s evolution from a print-focused service provider to a full-scale digital transformation partner.

A Strategic Shift Beyond Print Services

GCG Enterprise Solutions has built a strong legacy over four decades in Managed Print Services. However, the company is now accelerating its transition into high-growth digital domains. Specifically, it is expanding its portfolio to include Enterprise Information Management, workflow automation, application modernisation, and interactive smart solutions.

Under Howells’ leadership, the company aims to strengthen its digital-first strategy. Moreover, it plans to leverage the broader capabilities of the Ghobash Group to deliver integrated, end-to-end enterprise solutions. This approach is expected to enhance operational resilience while delivering measurable business outcomes for clients across the UAE.

Leadership Backed by Global Experience

Howells brings over 20 years of international experience across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Notably, he has led multiple large-scale transformations, turning traditional businesses into agile, performance-driven organisations.

Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Xerox MEA and OSN. During his tenure at Xerox MEA, he drove consistent revenue growth while implementing robotic process automation and enterprise-wide digital workflows. As a result, he strengthened both operational efficiency and commercial performance.

Leadership Commentary Signals Growth Ambitions

Commenting on the appointment, Rashid Ghobash said the company is entering a new growth phase. He emphasised that Howells’ proven ability to transform businesses aligns with GCG’s ambition to expand its digital services footprint.

Meanwhile, Howells highlighted the increasing demand for integrated digital capabilities. He noted that enterprises today seek partners who can combine scale, operational depth, and technology expertise. Therefore, GCG Enterprise Solutions aims to position itself as a trusted, long-term digital partner in the region.

Building a Future-Ready Digital Enterprise

Looking ahead, GCG Enterprise Solutions plans to deepen its presence across enterprise digitisation and smart technologies. In addition, the company will focus on building strategic partnerships that deliver sustained value to customers.

With a team of over 200 specialists across the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, the company continues to integrate advanced digital platforms. Consequently, it enables organisations to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, and drive performance at scale.
