According to News of Bahrain, in its report “Building Future Leaders Through PM Fellowship Programme,” published on July 2026, the Bahrain PM Fellowship Programme brought participants of its 11th cohort together with the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications to strengthen leadership development and provide greater insight into the Kingdom’s strategic government initiatives.
Bahrain PM Fellowship Programme 2026 expands leadership development
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met participants from the programme’s 11th cohort and highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to developing national talent. During the meeting, he said the initiative equips young professionals with the knowledge, expertise and leadership skills needed to support government performance and sustainable development. In addition, he noted that the programme plays an important role in preparing the next generation of public sector leaders.
Meanwhile, the minister explained that the fellowship aligns with Bahrain’s broader development vision led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. As a result, the programme continues to contribute to the Kingdom’s long-term goals for leadership development and effective public service.
Programme introduces participants to strategic government projects
During the session, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla presented the ministry’s responsibilities, strategic projects and ongoing initiatives. He outlined the Civil Aviation Affairs strategy and development plans designed to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a regional transport and logistics hub.
He also encouraged participants to adopt teamwork, innovation, excellence and responsibility while supporting the “Team Bahrain” approach to achieving national goals. These values remain central to the Bahrain PM Fellowship Programme and its leadership objectives.
Site visits provide practical learning experience
As part of the programme, participants visited several national facilities to gain first-hand knowledge of government operations. The tour included Bahrain International Airport, the Air Traffic Control Building, the Meteorological Directorate, Khalifa Bin Salman Port, the Postal Sorting Centre and the public transport bus depot.
Officials also briefed participants on operational systems, public services and projects across the aviation, maritime, postal and public transport sectors. These visits gave the cohort practical exposure to key government functions.

The initiative continues to support the Kingdom’s efforts to prepare future leaders for public service. Through direct engagement with government institutions and strategic projects, participants gain a broader understanding of national priorities and public sector responsibilities.
