Global Air Navigation Services L.L.C. (GANS) has appointed Armend Verbovci as Director Civil – Air Navigation Services. The move strengthens its leadership as it advances airspace modernisation and operational excellence across Abu Dhabi.
Mandate to lead air navigation strategy and operations
In his new role, Verbovci will oversee the strategic direction and operational performance of civil air navigation services. He will manage operations across key airports, including Zayed International Airport and other aerodromes.
Additionally, he will focus on ensuring operational safety, service efficiency, and seamless air traffic management.
Driving NextGen ATM and airspace transformation
Verbovci will lead advanced airspace transformation programmes. This includes the implementation of NextGen Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. Moreover, he will oversee Air Traffic Services (ATS), CNS, and AIS operations. His role will also ensure alignment with global aviation standards and evolving regulatory frameworks.
Strong track record in safety and compliance leadership
Prior to this role, Verbovci held several leadership positions within GANS. These include Head of Safety & Compliance and Safety Manager. During this period, he strengthened safety frameworks and improved regulatory compliance. As a result, he played a key role in enhancing operational performance.
Extensive international aviation experience
Earlier in his career, Verbovci served as Director of Safety, Quality & Security at the Air Navigation Services Agency of Kosovo. He also worked for nearly a decade as an air traffic controller with Isavia regional airports. Therefore, he brings deep global expertise in aviation safety, airspace management, and large-scale operations.
