The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research UAE and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation launched the UAE Skills Platform. The platform, integrates labour market data with academic planning through an AI-driven model developed by national ministries. The system covers more than 200,000 students, 200 institutions, and over 1,700 future skills, creating a centralised framework for workforce alignment. It formalises the connection between higher education and employment demand within the UAE’s economic planning structure. The initiative reflects a shift toward data-led human capital development tied directly to sectoral investment priorities.

How the UAE Skills Platform Connects Education and Employment

The UAE Skills Platform combines labour market data with academic planning. It uses artificial intelligence to guide students. The system tracks global job trends and identifies skill gaps. It then links students to relevant courses and career opportunities.

The platform connects education providers with government workforce databases. As a result, students receive more accurate and timely guidance.

The Education, Human Development and Community Development Council directed the initiative. This places it within broader national efforts to align education with economic goals. It also creates a clear link between what students study and what employers need.

Scale, Data Integration and Workforce Impact

The platform will serve more than 200,000 students. It will also connect over 200 educational institutions across the UAE.

It includes a database of more than 1,700 future skills. Students can track demand across industries and roles. This helps them make informed choices about their education.

Government entities and universities can also use the platform. They can analyse real-time data and adjust their programmes. For example, they can identify priority sectors and update course offerings. This supports national employment strategies and boosts Emirati participation in the private sector.

Leadership Positioning and Policy Context

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, said human development remains central to the UAE’s economy. He linked the platform to national investment strategies.

He stressed the need to align education with industry demands. This is especially important as the UAE expands sectors that require specialised skills. The platform supports this goal by offering a central, data-driven resource for students, institutions, and policymakers.

Platform Accessibility and Next Steps

Students can access the UAE Skills Platform through a mobile app called “UAE Skills.” It is available on both the App Store and Google Play.

The app allows students to explore courses based on future job demand. It gives them direct, personalised guidance as they plan their academic and career paths.
