UAE-based gaming entertainment platform Exscape has appointed Mario Pérez Guerreira as its Chief Growth Officer, strengthening its leadership team as it scales operations across global markets.
The move comes at a time when Exscape is witnessing rapid adoption across Africa and the Middle East. As a result, the company is positioning itself as a rising contender in the fast-evolving attention economy.
Rapid growth underscores platform traction
Founded in the UAE, Exscape has crossed 10 million downloads within its first year. Additionally, it has achieved 1.7 million monthly active users, highlighting strong user engagement and product-market fit.
Moreover, the platform continues to expand across emerging markets. This expansion reflects a broader shift in digital entertainment consumption, where interactive and gaming-led experiences increasingly dominate user attention.
Industry veteran brings global esports and entertainment expertise
Guerreira brings over 15 years of experience across the global entertainment and esports ecosystem. Notably, he has led large-scale expansion strategies, built high-impact partnerships, and driven revenue growth across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Before joining Exscape, he held senior leadership roles at GGTech Entertainment and LVP (Mediapro). Both organisations are known for producing major esports events such as Gamergy. During his tenure, he played a key role in launching new markets and diversifying revenue streams.
Earlier, he also led global sales and partnerships at StubHub. In that role, he managed multi-country operations and drove sustained commercial growth, particularly in Latin America.
Growth mandate aligned with attention economy trends
In his new role, Guerreira will focus on accelerating Exscape’s global footprint. He will also work on expanding into new entertainment verticals and strengthening the company’s competitive position.
“I’m excited to join Exscape at such a dynamic stage,” said Guerreira. “Throughout my career, I have focused on connecting audiences with engaging entertainment experiences at scale.”
He further added that the platform demonstrates strong early traction. Therefore, it offers significant potential to redefine interactive entertainment while competing for what he described as “the most valuable asset today—user attention.”
Leadership highlights global expansion roadmap
Commenting on the appointment, Faisal Zaidi emphasised the company’s global ambitions.
“As we accelerate expansion across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, we need world-class leadership to guide this journey,” he said. “Appointing a Chief Growth Officer is a strategic step toward building the scale and structure required to take Exscape global.”
