King Abdulaziz University has launched the third edition of TechHub3, a flagship technology event designed to strengthen digital capabilities and prepare students for the Kingdom’s evolving economy. Held in Jeddah, the initiative aligns closely with Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation and talent development.
A Multi-Disciplinary Platform for Emerging Technologies
Organised by the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, the event runs at the Academic Square campus under the theme “Empowering the Future.” It brings together academics, students, and industry experts through a structured program of over 15 panel discussions, 19 workshops, and 11 technical sessions.
Moreover, the sessions focus on high-demand domains such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, robotics, and digital transformation. As a result, participants gain exposure to both theoretical insights and real-world applications.
Bridging Academia and Industry Needs
Sanaa Abdullah Sharaf, Vice Dean of the faculty, emphasised that TechHub3 plays a crucial role in aligning academic outcomes with labour market demands. She noted that the platform creates an interactive learning environment where students can apply classroom knowledge to practical scenarios.
Consequently, graduates improve their readiness for technology-driven careers while also gaining clarity on industry expectations.
Hands-On Learning and Competitive Engagement
In addition to knowledge sessions, the event features student project exhibitions, career guidance programs, and innovation-driven competitions. These include cybersecurity and programming challenges, which actively encourage problem-solving and technical creativity among participants.
Furthermore, such initiatives help students build confidence while showcasing their capabilities to potential employers.
Strengthening Talent Pipelines and Innovation Ecosystems
TechHub3 also aims to deepen collaboration between academia and industry. By expanding training opportunities and employment pathways, the initiative supports emerging technology projects and nurtures local talent.
Notably, the previous edition attracted more than 7,500 visitors and featured over 100 student-led innovations, highlighting the event’s growing impact and relevance.
