The General Tax Authority (GTA) Qatar has celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of employees from its ‘Promising Leaders’ programme, a leadership development initiative designed to prepare national talent for evolving institutional and strategic demands.

The graduation ceremony took place in the presence of Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al-Kuwari, President of the General Tax Authority, underscoring the organisation’s commitment to leadership development and workforce capability building.

Programme focused on modern leadership and management skills

The two-month programme helped participants build key leadership and management skills. It also supported the Authority’s wider strategic goals.

The training covered several important topics. These included strategic leadership, change management, decision-making, and crisis management. Participants also learned about institutional performance improvement and leadership in the age of artificial intelligence.

In addition, the programme focused on influence, negotiation, and team management skills. As a result, participants gained practical knowledge that can support organisational growth and performance.

Executive sessions offered strategic insights

The programme included interactive dialogue sessions with executive leaders. These discussions gave participants valuable insights into the Authority’s priorities and future direction.

Moreover, the sessions created opportunities for professional growth and leadership learning. Participants gained a better understanding of how leaders manage change and drive institutional success.

Team projects addressed workplace opportunities

Participants worked in specialised teams throughout the programme. Together, they developed practical projects that focused on workplace challenges and improvement opportunities.

At the end of the programme, each team presented its findings and recommendations. These presentations showcased the skills and knowledge participants developed during the learning journey.

Furthermore, the projects encouraged collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving. They also helped employees apply leadership concepts to real workplace situations.

GTA strengthens its investment in future leaders

The ‘Promising Leaders’ programme reflects the General Tax Authority’s focus on developing human capital and national talent.

Through this initiative, the Authority aims to prepare qualified leaders who can adapt to change and support institutional excellence. At the same time, it seeks to build a strong leadership pipeline for the future.

Meanwhile, the programme also supports the GTA’s broader goal of creating a culture of excellence, sustainability, and continuous development. By investing in leadership capabilities today, the Authority is helping shape the next generation of public sector leaders in Qatar.
