The UAE is the world’s most prepared country for artificial intelligence adoption, according to Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Agentic AI Project Executive Committee.
Speaking at the Agentic AI Workshop in Dubai, Al Gergawi said the country is entering a new stage of government transformation. This phase will focus on AI assistants and intelligent agents across public services.
The workshop was organised by the Presidential Court and the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. It brought together more than 600 employees from both entities.
UAE Aims to Move 50% of Government Services to AI-Supported Models
The UAE is moving ahead with plans to transform government operations through artificial intelligence.
Under the initiative, 50% of government services, procedures, and operations will be supported by AI assistants within two years.
According to Al Gergawi, this move will improve productivity and service quality. It will also help government teams make faster and better decisions.
Moreover, the plan seeks to redesign the way government work is carried out across different departments.
“The world is witnessing a major transformation driven by artificial intelligence,” Al Gergawi said.
He added that the UAE’s early investments have helped it build a strong position in global AI readiness. As a result, the country is well placed to benefit from the next wave of technological change.
New Dh1 Million Award to Encourage AI Innovation
During the event, Al Gergawi announced a new Dh1 million award programme.
The award will recognise the three most impactful AI assistants developed within the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
The initiative aims to encourage innovation. In addition, it will promote practical AI solutions that improve government performance.
At the same time, officials stressed that AI assistants will support employees rather than replace them. Instead, the technology will help people work more efficiently and focus on higher-value tasks.
AI to Support Policies, Strategy and Service Delivery
Government officials also shared details of the upcoming transformation roadmap.
The plan includes redesigning government processes with AI-powered tools. These tools will support both administrative and specialised functions.
As a result, authorities expect several benefits, including:
- Faster service delivery
- Better decision-making
- Higher-quality outputs
- More reliable information
- Stronger support for policy development
Furthermore, AI tools will help reduce the time needed for strategy work, legislation, policy design, and institutional support services.
However, officials said security, governance, and quality standards will remain a top priority.
Employee Training Remains a Key Focus
The UAE also plans to strengthen AI skills across the government workforce.
Shamsa Jaber Al Falasi, Executive Director of Transformation and Development at the Presidential Court, highlighted ongoing efforts to build national AI capabilities.
She said successful transformation depends on people as much as technology. Therefore, changing how employees think and make decisions remains essential.
In addition, Al Falasi highlighted several initiatives. These include sovereign AI infrastructure projects, the Diwan GPT platform, and specialised training programmes for government staff.
Ministers Discuss the Future of AI in Government
The workshop also featured a high-level panel discussion.
Participants included Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; Maryam Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Cabinet; and Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs.
During the discussion, officials explored the shift from AI experimentation to full-scale adoption.
They also reviewed AI tools designed to support Cabinet operations, legislation, strategic planning, and policy development.
UAE Strengthens Its Global AI Leadership
The latest announcement builds on the national AI transformation project launched earlier this year.
In April, the UAE announced plans to integrate AI assistants into half of government operations within two years.
Consequently, the government expects faster services, better efficiency, and stronger decision-making across public institutions.
At the same time, the initiative reinforces the UAE’s ambition to remain a global leader in artificial intelligence and future-ready governance.
