Curriculum Associates confirmed that it will grow its Bengaluru GCC into 15 percent of its worldwide headcount over the next two years. The move comes as the company increases AI-driven development and service functions across markets. According to a report by MoneyControl, this growth in Bengaluru aligns with the organisation’s broader Global Capability Centre strategy. Additionally, the company aims to accelerate AI innovation across its product and services portfolio.

What changed in Bengaluru GCC expansion

The company informed that its Bengaluru GCC now occupies 40,000 sq ft and employs about 240 people. Moreover, leaders said the site will expand engineering, operations, product, and services roles. This will support global teams more directly.

CEO Kelly Sia stated that Bengaluru will hold 15 percent of the firm’s 2,700-person global workforce once scaling is complete. Furthermore, the GCC development supports the rollout of AI-enabled literacy tasks and teacher-facing tools. Teams here are coordinating work on voice-scored reading assessments built with SoapBox Labs’ speech engine. As a result, the company strengthens its AI-driven assessments and edtech expansion plans.

Impact on global operations and educators

The Bengaluru GCC gives Curriculum Associates a full-stack Global Capability Centre in India. It includes technology, business development, marketing, IT, and services. Executives said the model mirrors headquarters processes. Therefore, the India centre functions as a direct extension rather than a support hub. The expansion also affects the company’s US education market. Curriculum Associates currently works with 14 million students and aims to reach 25 million. Tools developed partly at Bengaluru will be integrated into the forthcoming math programme. They will also flow into i-Ready Studio, which provides point-of-use resources for educators.

How the new system works

The GCC’s remit includes AI research, product testing, acquisition integration, and support for service-model modernisation. The firm recently bought an Australian science-learning platform that uses AI to interpret classroom interactions, and Bengaluru teams will contribute to its integration.

Company leaders said AI remains a priority across departments. The organisation elevated its CTO to chief AI officer to oversee long-term development. Senior executives in India said employees will receive the systems and tools needed to meet delivery goals.
