Qatar Leadership Centre celebrated the graduation of the 13th cohort of its National Leadership Programmes, “Qiyadat 2026”, under the patronage of Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The ceremony reflected Qatar’s continued investment in leadership development, innovation, and sustainable national growth.
A total of 166 graduates received honours during the ceremony. The graduates represented government, semi-government, and private sector organisations across Qatar. The event also reinforced the Centre’s growing role in preparing future national leaders.
122 participants complete National Leadership Programmes
The graduating cohort included 122 participants from the National Leadership Programmes. In addition, 44 graduates completed the Executive Master’s in Leadership Programme, one of the Centre’s flagship academic initiatives.
The programme aims to equip emerging leaders with strategic thinking, management expertise, and global leadership exposure. Moreover, the curriculum aligns with international academic and professional standards.
The event attracted several high-profile attendees, including ministers, senior officials, and families of graduates. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali bin Saud Al Thani also attended the ceremony alongside senior leadership figures.
Sheikha Al Mayassa stresses importance of investing in people
During her address, Sheikha Al Mayassa emphasised the importance of human capital development in Qatar’s long-term vision.
She said, “Investing in people is our most enduring strategic choice, and in Qatar we believe that developing leaders is the guarantee for moving steadily toward the future we aspire to.”
Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of preserving national identity amid rapid technological and social transformation.
“In a world swept by the winds of change, modernity, and technology, identity, language, and authenticity remain the deepest anchor in the journey of sailing forward with an ambitious vision toward the future,” she added.
Addressing graduates directly, Sheikha Al Mayassa encouraged them to lead with integrity and responsibility.
“Leadership is not a position — it is a responsibility. Be role models in integrity and competence. Leave an impact, however small, each from your own position. And let Qatar always be the standard,” she stated.
Qatar Leadership Centre highlights international learning exposure
Abdulla Mohammed Khalifa Albinali said the graduating class completed a year focused on leadership development, strategic capability building, and international learning experiences.
According to Albinali, the programmes strengthened professional skills and expanded intellectual and leadership perspectives. He also noted that international exposure helped graduates understand global best practices and future leadership requirements.
He added that graduates would now take on greater responsibility as innovators, role models, and contributors to Qatar’s national progress.
Qatar strengthens focus on knowledge-based economy
Established in 2008 by decision of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar Leadership Centre serves as a national platform for leadership training and executive education.
The Centre collaborates with leading global universities and institutions to prepare future leaders capable of supporting Qatar’s long-term development goals. In addition, its programmes support the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy under Qatar National Vision 2030.
The graduation ceremony comes at a time when organisations worldwide are demanding more agile, adaptive, and innovation-driven leadership. As a result, graduates from “Qiyadat 2026” are expected to play an important role in shaping Qatar’s next phase of economic and social development.
