Loumakis brings more than 20 years of experience in data, analytics, and enterprise software across EMEA. Over the years, he has improved go-to-market strategies and built strong relationships with senior executives. Moreover, he holds an MBA from the London Business School. This background helps him combine technical knowledge with business insight.
Speaking on his appointment, Loumakis said he looks forward to helping organisations unlock the full value of their data. He also noted that companies now need secure, scalable, and well-governed AI solutions.
Strong Growth Momentum Continues
Cloudera is entering its 2027 fiscal year on a high note. The company reported over 50% year-on-year growth in new and expansion business. In addition, it achieved more than 100% growth in new customer acquisitions in the fourth quarter. Therefore, this appointment comes at a crucial time as the company builds on its strong performance.
Ahmad Shakora said Loumakis will help speed up growth, strengthen partnerships, and support customers in their data journeys.

Cloudera continues to invest in the region. For instance, it signed a strategic MoU with Saudi Aramco. This partnership focuses on AI solutions for the energy sector. It also supports local talent development in data and analytics.
In addition, the company opened a new office in Saudi Arabia. It also added over 570 employees globally, which reflects its expansion plans.

Looking ahead, Cloudera will participate in LEAP 2026. The event will take place from April 13 to 16 in Riyadh.
